Volcano Men’s Retreat facilities and website are currently under construction. We estimate completion of our facilities and bungalows will be late March 2016. OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create and offer an intimate gay retreat which we, ourselves, could never find on the Big Island – a secured and secluded clothing-optional compound located within our 8-acres of ohia and fern forest. Guest enjoy their own 400 sq-ft bungalow with all the amenities of an upscale resort environment focused on phenomenal service.
OUR LOCATION
Volcano Men’s Retreat’s location is perfect for experiencing Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park or Hilo Town, both only 20 minutes away, or as your basecamp to experience all the Big Island has to offer, with no point further than 2 hours away. Enjoy a day of discovery and then return in the late afternoon to tranquility and margaritas and soak in our 10-man spa.
OUR BUNGALOWS
Our bungalows and Volcano Men’s Retreat were created with a concept of luxury and ecology. Each bungalow features 16-foot high ceilings, a private bath, private lanai seating and dining areas, wireless internet, complimentary iPads, DirecTV, a 42-inch flat screen TV, a microwave, a fireplace, and a refrigerator.
OUR RETREAT
All the buildings of Volcano Men’s Retreat are constructed almost entirely of bamboo and recycled materials, with our own rainwater collection and purification system, our own waste treatment system, and grid-tied solar power generation. Each of these on-site systems minimize our impact on the beautiful island of Hawai’i.

It is the goal of Volcano Men’s Retreat to create and provide an environmentally friendly luxury resort. We want our guests to experience all the perks of our modern world, such as our in-ground spa, satellite TV, wifi, and in-room microwaves and refrigerators, in a serene and natural environment. The Big Island of Hawai’I is the most natural, rugged, and least developed of the islands, but your home away from home will have all the amenities you’ve come to expect of a high-level resort. And we like to surprise our guests with complimentary perks throughout their stay every day.
OUR FEES AND SERVICES
Volcano Men’s Retreat’s goal is to provide a wonderful experience with the highest level of service at an affordable rate. Unlike other inns, retreats, and B&Bs in the area, we do not require a minimum stay of any kind. With our daily fee for one of our private bungalows, everything is inclusive, including complimentary iPads, beach chairs and umbrellas, morning coffee service on your private lanai, and the most amazing fresh breakfast. There are no hidden fees, such as resort fees, parking fees, cleaning fees, towel fees, internet fees, or destination fees. We want you to experience fantastic service and are available to you 24 hours a day. Our goal is to always say yes. If there is anything you need to make your stay more enjoyable, we beg you to please ask. If you need to check-in early or check-out late – no problem and no extra fees.
OUR GOURMET BREAKFAST
Fresh brewed coffee, made from locally grown and roasted beans, will be provided to you on your own private lanai each morning at the time you specify. A gourmet hot breakfast, with accompanying fresh and locally grown tropical fruits, as well as yogurts, cereals, and juices, will also be served in our central dining room or dining gazebo at the time you request.
